Registrations for Coaches and Managers are done via the Dribl Registration Portal, which is the system used by Football Canterbury. Apart from the Football Canterbury standard Code of Conduct, Coaches & Team Managers will also have to read and agree to abide by the BDFC Child Safe Code of Conduct when registering. There is no cost to register as a Coach or Team Manager.

If you are coaching or managing more than one team, you only need to register ONCE. You will then be allocated to all your teams by your relevant Age Coordinators.

Full instructions on how to register are available on the Player Registration page.

The registration packages for Coaches & Team Managers will appear on the portal page with all the other age group packages, so please ensure you scroll down and find the correct package. If you enrol via a different link, both the Team Manager & Coach registration packages appear when you select the Coach role.

You must have a WWC number to register

Football NSW now requires all coaches and managers of players under the age of 18 to provide a Working With Children (WWC) number prior to your registration being accepted. This change in policy means even parents coaching/managing their own child’s team must have a WWC number.

You’ll need to include your WWC number when completing the ‘Play Football’ Coach/Manager registration process.

What do you need to do?

Applications for a WWC number are made online – start here: Service NSW – Apply for Working With Children check. After applying, you will need to physically visit a Service NSW centre to complete a simple identity check process. It’s critical for Coaches and Managers to apply for their WWC number as early as possible to ensure your registration is finalised prior to the start of the season.

What will the club be doing?

To comply with both the WWC legislation and Football NSW’s child protection policy, Balmain DFC will verify your WWC number once it is entered into Dribl, prior to approving your registration as a Coach or Manager.

Please note:

  • It is mandatory for all Coaches and Managers to register in Dribl.
  • Teams won’t be included in the Football Canterbury draw unless they have at least one registered Coach or Manager
  • Junior teams will only be granted a training ground allocation when they have an approved, registered coach in Dribl.

This is an important change, designed to add increased protection for our children.
