Team Information
Training
Training is scheduled one night per week from Tuesday to Friday and will be confirmed prior to the commencement of the season.
Equipment
- All players are expected to wear the club’s full kit (shirt, shorts, and socks)
- Players supply their own football boots and shin pads.
Coaching
Many of our senior teams elect to self-coach. However, volunteer coaches from our parent and player community can also provide coaching for our senior teams. Players are encouraged to participate as coaches or assistant coaches and will be provided with all the resources required to support their team, including opportunities to complete relevant coaching certificates.
Managing
Each team has at least one volunteer manager drawn from players, parents or friends of the team. For these age groups, the manager’s role is to:
- Communicate games and training sessions times and locations
- Manage match day activities including player cards and game record sheets
- Pay referee match fees
- Coordinate the team to complete the teams ground official duties
Volunteer Managers are fully briefed and supported by the Club to complete these activities.
Ground Official Duties
Each Balmain home team MUST provide one volunteer for EVERY home game they play, regardless of the ground they play on. Your team must provide a Ground Official (GO) for your own game. If you are the home team on another club’s field, you must in that instance also provide a GO for your game. For games at neutral fields, both teams must supply a GO.
Senior Mens team playing on Saturday afternoons have a slightly different process. Senior Men’s teams that are playing at BDFC home grounds on Saturday afternoons will cover each other’s game in pairs. Teams playing in the early game (kick off at around 1pm) will supply a GO to the late game (kick off at around 3pm). Teams playing in the late game will supply a GO to the early game. Teams are welcome to contact each other to confirm/swap times if necessary, as long as ALL games are coverd by a GO.
Please go here for more detail on Ground Officials and their responsibilities.
