Summer Comp (Juniors)

About Junior Summer Comp

About Junior Summer Comp

The BDFC Summer Football Competition offers an exciting opportunity for young players to stay active and enjoy the game throughout the warmer months. The competition is held at The Rozelle Parklands Sporting Fields and is open to both  U7–U12 Mixed and Girls-only teams.

For the U7–U8 age groups, the focus is on enjoyment, participation, and skill development (these divisions do not include finals.but 8 rounds of matches). For the U9–U12 age groups, the final round (Round 8) will feature age-based finals between the top two teams of each competition.

Training is managed independently by each team, as BDFC does not currently provide training venues or organised sessions for this competition. We are however looking at options to book a venue for team training pending summer allocations.

The Junior Summer Competition offers an excellent opportunity for young players to continue their football journey in a supportive, community-focused environment!

Please read Registration information section below to register your team correctly.

Important Information

    • U7-U8 Competitions do not include finals
        • Last round for U9-U12 comps will have age-based finals for top 2 teams of each age group during round 8.

Training is entirely up to the team. We do not provide a training venue or service for this competition.

  • Teams provide their own uniforms (bibs will be provided on the day for same colour uniforms)
  • Match balls are provided
  • It is compulsory to wear football boots and shin pads for all games

For insurance reasons, it is mandatory for each player within the team to be individually registered for Summer Football through the nominated registration system. The link to register is below (once available). Do not register until an individual has a confirmed team to join and the associated team code (used during registration).

    • For players not registered in Winter Football in 2026, an additional insurance and Football NSW fee of $8 will apply

    • Please do NOT redeem any Active Kids Vouchers during this process, as the fees are minimal and you will not get full value for your voucher. Details on how to use an Active Kids Voucher for Summer Football are detailed below

The Summer Competition follows the winter 2026 age groups. Teams may choose to remain in the same age group they played in during the winter season, or they may choose to play up one age group if they feel they are ready for a greater challenge.
The age group for each team is determined by the oldest player in the team. For example, a team that played U7s during the 2026 winter season may still enter the U7 Summer 2026 Competition. However, if the team feels they are ready to challenge themselves, they may choose to enter the U8 age group instead.

For players wishing to use their Active Kids Voucher for the Summer Football registration, the following process must be followed:

Each parent/carer must send their child’s Active Kids voucher details to their Team Manager. This includes the Child’s NameDate of Birth, and Voucher Number EXACTLY as they appear on the Active Kids Voucher. Once all requests have been received the Team Manager can fill out the Active Kids  form. BDFC will then redeem the vouchers and, once funds have been received, will refund to the Team Manager for distribution.

The summer competition is setup for players who organise their own teams to play together. At times, some teams may require extra players or there are enough players in the same age group looking to join a team.

If you are looking to join a team, please fill out the JotForm HERE

We cannot guarantee that we can find your child a team to join. We will contact you if we have an available team.
